Spinely Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 June 2026
This privacy policy applies specifically to the Spinely app by Binary Meadow Ltd. For our general policy across all products, see our website privacy policy.
Spinely is local-first. Your bookcases, books and spine photos stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Data we collect
Spinely does not collect personal data on our servers. It handles the following data, which stays under your control:
Library & spine photos
Your bookcases, shelves, logged books and the spine photos you capture are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to Binary Meadow or any third party.
No account required
The app works without sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or location, and we do not build a profile of you.
No analytics or tracking
Spinely does not embed advertising SDKs or third-party analytics, and does not track your activity across other apps or websites.
Third-party services
- Open Library — queried to look up book metadata from an ISBN, under its own privacy policy.
- Google Books — queried to look up book metadata from an ISBN, under Google’s privacy policy.
- Google Play — distributes the app and processes installs under its own privacy policy.
Data sharing & selling
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Spinely contains no advertising and no third-party usage analytics.
Children’s privacy
Spinely is a family-friendly app suitable for all ages. Because it is local-first and collects no personal data, it can be used safely by children as well as adults.
Your rights
Because Spinely does not collect or hold your personal data, there is no personal information for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you would like to understand more about your rights under UK GDPR, or have any question about this policy, contact us at hello@binarymeadow.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Spinely evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
